Secondary menu
The secondary menu is currently positioned top-right, collapsing into hamburger on smaller displays.
There's an issue with this menu:
On pages other than the front page of the site, i.e. where the start.html layout is not used, there is a visibility problem as the menu text is in white and at least some of the background behind the text is also in white (where the viewport is between approx 1023px and 1463px wide). At the lower end the secondary menu collapses into a hamburger, and at the upper end the blue element in the background is sufficiently wide to encompass all elements of the secondary menu - as it is currently structured.
A number of options seem to be open to us:
- Change the text colour of the secondary menu. Black isn't idea as there is still a pretty low contrast difference with the blue background. Perhaps the orange colour that's present as part of the design - although that feels like it's giving the secondary menu too much prominence.
- Reduce the items listed in the secondary menu. Do we need them all?
- Move the secondary menu to the page footer.
My preferred option is to move the secondary menu to the page footer, which doesn't rule out either of the other two options, and at the same heightens the focus on the more important primary menu items.
